Designed and delivered a three day programme over three months to help Waitakere Library and Informational Services discover their Vision, Values and Behaviours plus an implementation strategy. For the Vision we worked with the Senior Managers and brought in the Team Leaders for the Values, Behaviour and implementation strategy.

The Management Team had come to a point of seeking external facilitation with a goal of achieving unity in our vision, values and in embedding these into our day-to-day way of working. It was important to us that we a/ believed in these and b/ they were achievable. Whilst we work under the shared values of the wider organisation, Waitakere City Council, we recognised that our Library services (7 branches and 7 Learning Centres) have developed our own culture and in a changing environment we needed to be united and strong in our cultural ethos.
The 3 day workshop that Improv offered us well exceeded our expectations and we worked extremely well together as a Team in a fresh and creative way, to explore our vision for libraries in the future. Whilst the Team is diverse in communication styles and thought processing, we all contributed and developed the vision, then subsequently what values were important to the service and staff, and finally what definable behaviours we attached to those values. We are in the process of getting feedback on these from the staff (just under 200 employees), and with the help of Improv Solutions have an implementation plan.
