The Team Player

"The most important thing for a satisfied team was a fun work environment." Sunday Star-Times article on Unlimited Magazine survey.

Want your Team to work together better? Have the sneaking suspicion that swinging from ropes and drinking sessions just aren't enough for long-term effective change?

The Team Player is a fun interactive programme enabling people to achieve their optimum potential as individuals while working together as an essential member of a group.

How does it do this?

The Team Player works on team members coming to understand themselves and each other better without being put through psychometric testing. The Team Player works on behavioural change rather than quick fixes which can be fun but don't really last. It creates a mutual respect and understanding between participants, taking into account that not everyone has to be 'best buddies' in the work environment. The Team Player develops a team culture through imparting to the participants a deeper understanding of emotional intelligence within themselves and the team.

The four main principles behind The Team Player are BAMM™

B = Being in the moment

'Being in the moment' creates an attentive state with no preconceived ideas or judgements that allows the participants to really connect with people (whether its fellow staff and/or customers). This adds the personal touch and is the key to building good relationships with people.

It silences the fear of judgement and criticism, self or otherwise giving team members a sense of ownership of their own actions and this empowerment gives them confidence to take the initiative and make decisions for the benefit of the team.

A = Attunement – Pattern Awareness

'Attunement' means being in tune with your team members, work environment and the thought and behavioural patterns within. This enables participants to detach ego from their ideas, tune into other people's perceptions and see from their point of view. This helps build rapport within teams and a positive environment as ideas are supported and built upon rather than judged and unduly dismissed. It gives team members the ability to influence with consent rather than by force.

M = Mindset +

'Mindset +' is about having the right mindset from the moment you arrive at work through to the moment you leave. This affects everything that a team member does and the way they do it.

The Team Player will help participants to be more aware of what triggers negative and positive mindset and they will discover their own MOJO (MOtivational JOlt) to prepare them for the onslaught of each day.

M = Make others feel good

'Make others feel good' is a simple but powerful way of having the difference between happy team members (and customers) and not. When people make other people they're interacting with their focus, they aren't focusing on themselves and their own problems but rather, how can I give this person a good time.

You can attract and retain the best people by creating an environment that they want to be a part of. Research shows if you take care of this then the increased productivity and bottom line will take care of itself.
